On Friday November 20, 2009, the first working conference on telecardiology will be held at Castle De Vanenburg in Putten. The conference is an initiative of drs. C.C. de Cock, chairman of the Netherlands Heart Rhythm Association (NHRA) and cardiologist at the acadamic VU Medical Center, drs. J. Elders, chairman of the Association of Invasive Technical Heart Stimulation Specialists and Prof. dr. N.M. van Hemel, cardiologist at the acadamic Utrecht Medical Center.
Otto Swens is a member of the Editorial Committee of the DHRA and he will deliver a speech about the legal implications of telecardiology and telecare in general, focusing on liability, privacy aspects and reimbursement issues.
